"I bought the unit as I already had a matrix unit that came with the boat.

The Humminbird 787 worked perfectly. I also bought a navionics chip to show lake bottom contours and a more detailed look of the lakes.

I can not believe how simple it is to find mid lake humps and other features in a lake with this unit.

The graph shows where my boat is in relation to the lake or river feature that I want to steer towards.

The unit has all the features of a gps plus a sonar.I have found it easier to determine bottom composition with the color screen as compared to the old two tone screens. After my brother in law saw my unit he is now wanting to buy this series or the 900 series sonar unit.

I like the fact that the unit can be upgraded using Humminbird's website. However, the plug adapter is not supplied with the unit and needs to be purchased through Humminbird."
